SC6000 Surface Treatment for Leather

SC6000 is a combination of natural and artificial waxes blended together with a soft acrylic resin. Developed by the Leather Conservation Centre and becoming increasingly popular with bookbinders as a final layer of protection. Also excellent as a wax for the final stage when repairing leather joints etc using the Japanese tissue paper method. Gives a good finish when used to wax hand-marbled papers - dab it on, leave for a minute and buff.

Apply sparingly by lint-free cloth onto sound leather surfaces, working in a small area at a time. The finish dries quickly and can be buffed to a shine. SC6000 is reversible in water and alcohols. Use in good ventilation. SC6000 is an effective finish for sound leather but should not be applied to fragile or flaking surfaces. It is recommended to test SC6000 in an unobtrusive area prior to use to ensure compatibility with the original finish.
